While I wish we could sit down again for dinner, the food has remained the same - and that's a great thing. Large portions, fast carry-out, and good service.
The food is always good and plentiful and reasonably priced. It is carry out only and usually ready within 10 minutes.
I started coming a few months ago after a friend recommend it. Very generous portions and we love their sweet and sour sauce. Egg rolls are delicious! Even better with a slight warmup in the air-fryer if you like it crispy since it tends to get a little soggy in the box.
Occasionally someone in the subdivision FB page where I live will ask what the best Chinese food is in the area and this place always gets lots of mentions. This is the only reason I knew to go here and wish it hadn't been years of me living here before I discovered it. Giant portions and the food tastes great. I'm partial to General Tso and theirs is among the best. Also, some places will use dark meat but theirs is white which is great too. I have to pass multiple Chinese restaurants to get to Shong Hey but it's worth it. I do hate they're not open on Sundays; often that's the day I'm most not wanting to cook and Chinese would be perfect but this place is closed, unfortunately.
This is my favorite Chinese restaurant and I'm always ordering takeout when I'm back in town. I also usually order a bunch of eggrolls to freeze and take back to NC with me because they're the best. Michigan is the only state that has the bean sprout eggrolls; everyone else uses cabbage in their eggrolls. Yuck!! Right now you can only get carryout because no one wants to work; the dining room is closed until further notice. How are these job quitters getting their money?! You can only be on unemployment for so long. Bah!! Anyways, I've been frequenting this restaurant since I was a teenager and I've never had a bad meal. Everything is always excellent.
